The app is gorgeous and smooth, great alternative to native mail.. but current version doesn’t let you SEND mail after you’ve had it a bit. Mark was super helpful in getting me up and running with a working version though, so for now - they’ve redeemed a few starts. Bravo, Mark!
As a power user I’m never really satisfied (of course). I’ve tried them all. Airmail 2, though not (yet) perfect, is the best yet. Found a small glitch when transferring email from one account to another (and yes! you can actually do that! Very handy.) which is being addressed but other than that I love this program. One of the rare ones with both desktop and iOS versions. Tons of options. AND I have to say I love their responsive Support - immediately there for me, even late Friday night - (thanks Sarah).
This app is something I expect Apple to put out - visually and functionally. So far I love it on both desktop and iPhone. Also had a couple customer service questions and BAM - something actually responds - and immediately - unexpected. Sherlyn is my new best buddy at Airdrop. Really refreshing to use something that is functional, easy on the eyes and operational.
the support are amazing , Brenna is the best
This app has potential but until they fix some of the bugs I recommend that you stay away from the current version. In particular if you delete several messages in fairly rapid succession - which is pretty normal if you get lots of promotional e-mail - then you can easily get into an off-by-one state where the message shown in the inbox list is not the same as shown in the full message view, but is the one before or after. This makes it very easy to inadvertantly delete the wrong mail message. I reported this bug seven months ago (ticket 7116) and the developers acknowledged that they had several other reports o the same issue but it is still not fixed.
It was easy to get Airmail up and running. Felt as easy as setting up an iOS email app, for example. It’s pretty plug-n-play in that regard. I enjoy the look and feel of it. It’s simple but at the same time, almost all the features I would like are there once you take a short amount of time to find/implement them. I would also like to highlight that there were no surprises based on any marketing the developers have done for Airmail. What they have on the Mac App Store and the webpage are accurate representation of what you get. I often am frustrated when, after taking the time to download and get into an app, either the production isn’t "as advertised" functionally or wording in the description was easy to misinterpret or at times, misleading. This was not the case with Airmail, you get what they say you get. Two feature requests I’d have would be an Unsubscribe feature provided by the app, and in general a more intuitive way to filter emails. I’d rather have a default filtration system that I can adjust on my own as I go, than having to set that all up myself. Finally, the only issue I’ve had with Airmail was handled quickly and efficiently by contacting their support. Mark was the representative that helped me, he did a great job, and I would be very likely to contact Airmail’s support again if I needed assistance. Overall, 4.5 stars and recommended!
I’ve been using Airmail 2 for a year give or take, connected to my gmail account. This app is solid. I have had a couple of questions and asked Support for help. They’ve provided quick and accurate replies. In one of those cases the answer solved a problem I didn’t realize I had. In the other Sherlyn literally responded to my support request within a minute.
Easy to download and use. The customer service was phenonanal. Sherlyn was a great customer service rep. A must have app.
I’ve been looking for years now for a replacement to Apple Mail. Apple Mail is perfectly functional for the basics, but I never really took to it’s look or navigation. Airmail looks great and adds a ton of useful features. This will be my daily email client for now.
**If you need tech support, ask for Sherlyn** I have been using this application for a few months now, and I have to say it is the most common-sense email app I have used. I was reminded of this fact when, for some reason, this application forgot all of my email accounts and would not let me add them back (on the front end, I should say that it is fairly likely that this error was my fault and not the application’s). When this happened, I was forced to use the native “mail” app again. After a week or two, I just coult not take it anymore. the application felt clunky and I had to switch back. I contacted tech support via their in-browser chat widget, was connected with a person named Sherlyn, and told her my problem. I was given a terminal command to copy and paste, and the problem was solved! I’m now using Airmail again and I could not be happier. IN SHORT: Great application, great tech support. I am very satisfied with this company’s product and service.
Now: I put another Star in here, it’s getting better all the time. I had a support issue and Stephen helped me get the information I needed. He was quick, efficient and got me the answer. Support for this APP has gone way UP. Thanks everyone! Previously: I don’t know if this review will really help anyone or not, but here it goes… The APP in general has great ideas, good interactions with other APP’s and some great time savers. There is an iPad & iPhone version, which is nice. The options, being so many, are a bit hard to learn. The website has enough information to learn the APP but I do wish all developers had Manuals in .pdf form for us that would like one, but that is for another venue. A couple more upgrades and I think this APP will soar over others. Until then, it’s okay.
I use Exchange and Gmail with AirMail and it works very well. Highly recommend it looking for something else than the build in Mail App. The iOS app is great also on iPhone & iPad. The support is also super resonsive and Sherlyn is always helpful!
This is so easy and efficient to use. The SNOOXZE feature lets you quickly have auto reminders when you want the,. This is exceptionally robust and rarely has any issues. Solid and reliable and WAY better than Apple Mail. Use on Apple Watch is great too. Here’s a letter I sent to their customer service pro after making inquiries and providing suggestions. Know you can count on a prompt and intelligent response from this team! "Mark you are extremely responsive and an asset to your company. You have repeatedly been there and answered positively and intelligently to all my concerns. Please forward this to your boss so they know the program and your support are truly exceptional!"
Having major issues with SPAM mapping and search indexing (non-existent and no way to force it to redownload old emails). I have contacted support via chat, twitter and email with no resolution several times each. The support is absolutely useless and can’t even answer a question directly. It’s likely there is no answer and the app is just buggy so I cannot recommend buying.
I NEVER write reviews for apps. I also don’t mind paying for apps through the app store, assuming they work — hence my review. This is a wonderful email client for Mac with one HUGE disclaimer: it seems to only run on one Mac at a time. Here’s my issue: I have a 2015 Macbook Pro, a 2015 Macbook and an iPhone 6s+. I work in an Exchange environment and, so far, have either used Outlook or mail.app for email. I was able to install Airmail on the Macbook and iPhone with no problems. Super fast, great organizational features, I love the iCloud sync for set up. I used it for about two days (on the Macbook and iPhone) to make sure it was stable enough for my primary work machine (MBP). Everything was good, so I downloaded and installed it on the MBP. Here’s where it gets weird: I imported the settings from iCloud for my Exchange account, and got an error that Airmail couldn’t authenticate my email. So i uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and tried entereing the settings by hand, using EXACTLY the same settiings from my Macbook. Same error message. I contacted support to ask for help — maybe I was missing something? Support replied immediately and, aftger talking with their technical folks, I was told that this was a known issue and it would be fixed “shortly.” Huh? I replied back asking what the issue was — can your app only run on one Mac or??? And what does “shortly” mean — a couple of days, weeks, months? The reply back was, "There is no such ETA set but our developers are working hard to get it fixed soon. Really sorry for the inconvenience caused.” So I figured I’d uninstall from my Macbook and only run it on the MBP — but, no dice. Apparently it’s something to do with the MBP, not more than one machine. Strange. So, I’ve deleted the app on all my machines now and am back to mail.app — at least it works on more than one machine at a time. Too bad because I really liked this when I was able to use it.
Could be a a good alternative to Apple Mail but freezes regularly.
like any new app it will take me a while to just discover everything … during which I will have questions. Like just now I was trying to correct the spelling of my name (the signature block at the bottom of my email). A quick chat with Paul on their Support Desk and it’s done. I’ve tried email apps as they come out … always an interesting feature or two. But Airmail is the first to work so seamlessly on my Mac as well as iPhone & iPad. And it has saved all my previous folders so I feel safe that I am not losing anything. It’s very comprehensive … I will probably stick with it.
I paid for this program for both my Mac and Iphone. Love many of the features; snooze, todo especially. The problem is the program is very slow/sluggish. When you open it up it can take 5 mins to load or if you do a search or switch inboxes it can take forever….and in the middle of a busy business day 60 seconds seems like an hour. I did try to get support but it is limited to chat. Their response was to rebuild the data bases….which I did several times with no impact on speed. They offered a new beta but in order to upgrade requires the full entrey of each of your e-mail accounts…..AGAIN. I have one exhcange server account and 3 gmail accounts….so they system shoud be able to handle it. I guess until I find another viable alternative it is back to basic Mac Mail.
Wonderful Mail App. One month in and this is great. Apple should buy this company maybe.
