This has become my favourite e-mail app on Mac. I’ve switched my gmail and hotmail accounts over to it and will probably use for iCloud and work Exchange as well. The interface is simple and so customizable. It’s a bit daunting at first, but the fact that I can really make this app exactly what I want is so great. I had one issue with the interface (my preview pane disappeared). I went on Airmail’s site and was helped within 2mins by Sherlyn via chat. She told me to hit the right arrow key and sure enough my pane showed again. So there’s a tip - left and right arrow keys hide and show the message pane. :) Great app with great support.
Thought the app was great at first, but with continued use, have been less impressed. There are several small issues that aren’t much consequence, but the big one is the address book. It isn’t connecting properly to my Apple Contacts app. When you view the address window in Airmail, you can see the addresses for many of the contacts, but basic information is broken (like their name). Compare same contacts to Contacts app, and they are there, in tact. Re-synced contacts, restarted app several times, still nothing. Support was not helpful at all. Told me to rebuild my mailboxes, then went dark on me. So close to being a perfect mail app, but can’t get past the address book issue or the lack of support.
I too am a Mailbox convert that moved to Airmail 2 and love it. There are a couple things I’d like to see fixed, and the Airmail 2 support team seems very responsive. I had a great little chat with Brenna today to discuss one of those things I perceive as a bug, and I am confident they will actually address it. Definitely worth the minimal investment for an app that handles something as crucial as email.
This is the best email client I’ve ever used. And the only email client I paid for out of my own pocket. - Simple and aesthetically pleasing design. - Easy to use. - Fast speed. - Nice iCloud Sync functionality. - Doesn’t do random weird things Apple Mail does. You can try it out by downloading the Beta. You lose some functionalities like iCloud sync but otherwise fully functional. I did this for a month before buying it. Good tech support through Online Chat. I spoke to a nice lady named Sherlyn. Good response time.
So far I like the App. Bought the iPhone version to go along the Mac one. However, I have issue with the synching of the Read/unread e-mails. I use an IMAP account for the office and they just can’t keep in synch where as CloudMagic does wonderfully. Even if its a simple one, it’s an important feature for me and its broken.
Had been using Airmail for years….Currently on Airmail 2.6. Not sure what happened but emails got disconnected. No matter what I did I couldnt get my live.ca email to work but Brenna helped me troublshoot my way back to getting everything setup again. Great support for a great app. Thank you Brenna!!!
It was interesting because it was new. Not even a week later I’m back to the default Mail app.
This is. a great email app on Mac. Has tons of features and handles email really well. I highly recommend it and I have used Mail, Outlook, Mailplane, Thunderbird to list a few. that I have compared it too Airmail is a really good email client. I also want to give credit and thanks for the super online support. I had a few questions and they quickly responded from their web page. No need to sit on hold simply type in your question and keep working when the browser window pings read your answer. Great job!!
Mails often got stuck in sending mode and take forever to sent (even for text only files). Syncing is extremely slow!!!
I loved this app until I had to change a password. I then spent 1/2 hour trying to type in my new password but a new timeout window would pop up every 2 seconds… Support was really great with the only possible option of deleting and then reinstalling the app… Yup, problem solved! App deleted and NOT reinstalled.
I’ve been using Airmail for about 2 months. It is easy to use and manages the multiple accounts I have easily and efficiently. I did have a question about managing the priority of my accounts and Brena from the support team did a great job helping me. She quickly clarified my concern and provided me with a link to the answer I had. Thanks.
I was a little skeptical because like most, I’ve tried 3rd party clients that didn’t measure up to my expectations. Also like most, I value features balanced with simplicity, and Airmail so far delivers. I keep discovering little things that I really wanted Apple Mail to do, such as sending an e-mail to notes or linking to other 3rd party services. It also imported my Mail accounts which was rather convinient. To be fair, I’ve only been using it for a day but it already feels like a solid product. It is light weight and very intuitive. Would recommend to anyone looking for more out of their e-mail.
Makes email so much more multitasking. Enables you to empty your inbox and move things to where they have to be. Excellent very rapid support, especially from Sherlyn. The latest ipad update just makes this the best mail client ever for apple environment. Bravo
I’ve reported this to Airmail support and apparently it’s a known issue. This known issue has been around for a long time: If an incoming e-mail is in HTML format, the preview window truncates the e-mail. You literally cannot view the email beyond a certain length. The workaround is to view another e-mail and come back to it at which point the preview will display the message in its entirety. It’s not a showstopper but it’s EXTREMELY annoying not to be able to read the message upon its first selection. It is a bit of a UX killer.
Airmail has been very good so far. It would be nice if you could tag messages with Apple Tags as you can in Mac Mail. With his feature it would be the best for me.
This app crashes all the time and has many, many, many, many bugs. I am using a compatible OS version. I find more bugs and more problems with each update. Support staff was unable to fix any bugs, because I think its in the core programming. If you need reliable access to your emails, I do not recommend this App. I started using this App at version 2, then 2.5 and currently use 2.61. I don’t have the confidence these bugs will be fixed properly and I am seeking another email solution, there are not too many options that I am aware of in the app store, but I greatly regret this purchase. I hope to save you wasted time and energy not to mention your hard earned cash.
Best out there so far!
Had an issue with scrolling, but issue was solved very quickly by Brenna using chat—and at a late hour to boot! Very impressed by the support. Love the app.
Very seamless transition betwwen Mail and Airmail 2- and so far Airmail 2 has fixed all the nagging little problems I had with the default Apple client. Paul in their Customer Service dept answered my questions quickly. I’m also a fan of the UI
