Best client ever tried till now.
I’ve been using Airmail since 1.14. Every time is a great surprise with new, outstanding features. Not only for these reasons but also for a great technical support I would recommend it. Steven and Sherlyn have been simply great!
I am very upset as I am not able to use Airmail simply because there is no tree structure (with folder opening in sequence) in the "Move/Copy/Transfer/Clone to" actions. I have very many folders and without a way to navigate through my tree of folders opening them with a certain order it is simply impossible to me to use Airmail. Now all of them appear in a very very very long vertical list just indented. Thunderbird has such structure for those actions and this simple feature makes Thunderbird much simpler to be used. Please copy such a feature if you want people really use Airmail.
I have to say: Airmail 3 is simply the best email client in OS X. And thenk you to Paul from Airmail support: he helped me to fix an Appstore issue that prevent me to upgrade to ver. 3.
Fix it Please!!! Exchange… after update from AirMail 2 to 3
Accessing many different mail account for professional and personal reason, I appreciate this app that allows me to easily recognise maiboxes and set priorities to messages. Well organised and easy to use interface, very useful if you come from other mail clients. Last, but not less important, prompt and useful chat support (thank you Paul!)
Good interface. It allows you to customize a lot the way airmail displays things for you. Interesting thing it allows you to set how much of your emails you want to download. I set up for a month only as it prevents from overloading the hard disk… when you have multiple computer, the app recognises you and offers to import other accounts that you may have. Small but nice details, the app adds pictures of the people you exchange with. I spoke to Paul at the helpdesk. He’s been very quick and helpful. Good job.
Ive evaluated Airmail against Postbox which I’d been using for about two years and found Airmail’s customization benefits persuasive enough to justify switching from Postbox to Airmail. Added bonus #1 Airmail has an IOS version providing consistency with the desktop client, something Postbox does not offer. Bonus #2 Customer support is fantastic (Thanks Sarah!), easy to reach through the apps and quick to reply. Their first reply to me ended up in my spam folder but I suspect that is an issue on my end. After that was discovered I received clear, thoughtful and well organized answers to my questions. Power users should spend the time to configure the many options for the most advanced functionality, and for people who prefer to set up their email and be done with it, you’ll be very happy with your experience. As a power user my only negative comment is that I’d love to have a comprehensive user manual that defined every option, action etc. Screencast Online, and other web based tutorials do a great job of covering most things though. I’m looking forward to Airmail’s continued improvement, Apple’s Mail app looks ancient compared to Airmal 3!
I was amazed by their quick response and helpful representatives. Thank you Sarah for your efficient insights.
Pros: • Incredible UI • Smooth cross-folder integration • Multi-platform support that retains uniform UX • Simple setup and consistent connection Cons: • Buggy, mail will lag on certain platforms at times • A bit pricey for the actual product • Bad customer service. Although they’re impressively responsive for a startup, they are quite brash and dismissive. • No support for multiple signatrues (seems basic to me, if I’m sending a new e-mail I should have a full signature, but only my name needs to appear in replies).
I have wanted an alternative for Mac Mail for a while, and finally decided to try Airmail. I downloaded it for my macbook and iMac, thinking if it works well I might download the iPhone app later. At first i had issues setting up my non-gmail accounts, but I created a ticket in Airmail’s support, and heard back from a guy named Paul within minutes. Over several emails he helped me get my accounts online. Really impressive customer service. I love the way Airmail looks and handles my different accounts too. I’ve only had it for a cuople of days, but I feel optimistic—and if I run into any more trouble I feel confident that I’ll get a speedy reply from support.
I love my Mac, but I hate MM. I’ve never had an issue with Airmail. It just works. When I’ve had questions, Mark from support was fast, friendly and helpful.
As the title says, the design and functionality are more than enough for me but the app is unbelievebly slow when switching between accounts and deleting email.
I bought this for ease of use and snooze feature. The snooze feature which is really what I paid $10 for is completely broken. Doesn’t work, doesn’t snooze on time. Has screwed me up several times by dropping them in my inbox at the wrong or unscheduled time. Also incredibly slow to load. Tried a bunch of fixes, nothing worked. Support told me to get a refund through the App Store which I couldn’t do. Still waiting for a refund/response from them. Tried this app for several months hoping updates would help. Would love it, but clearly not a functional product!
I am frustrated with Airmail. I purchased the app based on the reviews but it falls short on something as basic as the font size. When I reply or create an email, I can barely see the text because the font is really small. I have just purchased a fancy email reader that I cannot use for any correspondence. I searched the web for workarounds but came up empty handed. It appears that many users have been requested larger fonts but Airmail has not delivered the funtionality. It has the galls to ask users to vote on the idea. This should be a standard feature for something as basic as a font setting. It is the year 2016 and the fact that I am even writing a review on the font size problem is ridiculous. I am aware that I can enlarge the font size to 16 or more. I just want font size 12 to be readable. It is a deal-breaker.
I purchased Airmail 3 a day ago and have already fallen in love with it. After playing around with it for about two hours after buying it, I purchased the IOS version. Why would anybody pay $10 for an application that does the same thing free Apple Mail does? Because it does it so much better. I have barely scratched the surface on its functionality, but the more I investigate, the better it gets. I love the amount of control it gives ME in dealing with my mail. I know one reviewer had trouble importing. I imported all my IMAP accounts from Apple Mail with no problems. Well, that’s not entirely true. I did need to change port numbers for SMTP. No big deal. And my one Microsoft Exchange Account imported with no glitches at all. I’m running on macOS Sierra beta. I think this caused a problem with assigning custom icons to the accounts and establishing email signatures. However, once I established both the icons and the signatures in my iPad Airmail version, they synced almost immediately on my Mac. As with any new software, there’s a bit of a learning curve. This is where their support has been as outstanding as their product. Last night at about 9:30, I went to their Facebook page and typed in a support question. I expected to have to wait about a day for an answer. I was amazed when a live human being responded within about three minutes. Then again today I had another question (due to my lack of understanding of the folder set up). I established a support ticket at about 7:45 in the evening. I got a response within, once again, about three minutes. Mark was able to resolve my problem very quickly. And as I said, it was me and not the software at fault. I highly recommend Airmail 3 to anyone looking to go beyond the very basic functionality of Apple Mail.
Airmail is very configurable and adaptable to complex email situations, integrating multiple inboxes, providing an extended set of tools for managing emails across time and context spaces, and integration with many other applications and online services. If you just check your email a couple of times a day, respond to some messages and delete the rest, then it’ll be difficult to distinguish Airmail from other email solutions. But if your workday involves managing a torrent of email into a trickle of tasks, then Airmail is the tool for you. Hat tip to Paul in support, who provided exceptionally fast and courteous service.
It won’t work with Hotmail or Gmail accounts. For both throws a message: IMAP Test Failed The settings are not valid: A stable conneciton to the server could not be established. I’ve worked in high level IT for 20 years, and I’ve checked and verified all I can… the app is verified and authenticated with both… no connection or firewall etc. issues… ug… frustrating..
I have switched from Thunderbird to Airmail 3 and am really pleased with the way it works. I use filtering to automatically move things to my iMap folders, which seems to be working OK. But If you create a filter and apply the filter, it does not remove the item from the inbox until you close it and open the inbox again. In the iOS version, when you type V to move things it could use some options to bring up a move to the last one again. And it would be nice if you could increase the number of items in the list I think it only has 3 now for the last items filtered. Sometime when you create a new subfolder it hangs and you have to force quit and start up again to get rid of the dialog indication adding a folder. I cannot find a way to force running the rules after you add a new rule. That would be a necessary addition. Also it would be nice to be able to send feedback to the developers, which I have not found a way to do. All in all it was a very good deal for 10 dollars, And I look forward to many years of using Airmail. Thanks to the developers for a great product.
