Airmail - Lightning Fast Email App Reviews

Almost perfect

I’ve always tried to find the perfect mail client for mac. There’s no such thing but Airmail comes close. With the native Mail.app you can drag text from anywhere, drop it on Mail’s dock icon, and send a message with the text as body. This won’t work with Airmail, you can only drop attachments on the icon (Photos, PDF, etc.) Other than that, Airmail rules…

A great email client

I spend a lot of time in trains (French trains are pretty comfortable but there is no wifi). Thats why Ive bee looking for a replacement to the clunky Mail app for months. This app really made it into my workflow without me having to adapt to it. Great job guys !

The best of Mailbox + every other Mail client on mac!

I love Airmail since their last update : SNOOZE ! The design is neat, it works great, and now we can snooze emails as in Mailbox!!! ADOPTED, can’t wait for the iOS version!

Impossible to connect IMAP

I tried several time. But I couldn’t create any account on IMAP. I used the same settings for credential, SSL or port number as the one in Mail.app but no success. Still I recalled having used AirMail with great pleasure in the past. I had to come back to Mail.app because AirMail was using too much CPU much more than Mail.app. So in my case, I feel disappointed. I will stick to Mail.app…

Good UI but some functions could be better

I enjoy using Airmail but some functionalities really should be improved: . Search does not perform well (we can’t use combination of words for full text search for example) why not simply add support for Spotlight index? Many users are asking for this... . The labels vs folders system is confusing does moving a message / conversation to a folder is the same than labelling it? When labelling a message, is the whole conversation labelled or only the last message? This should be simplified and/or explained. . Conversations are not very well handled, it’s complicated to make operations on a single message which is part of a conversation and the other way around . It’s too complicated to add a user to contacts or simply copy his/her email address. Other than that, nice UI and ok performances without too many bugs

Its Great so far

loving using airmail, so different and no problems so far, unlike the mac imail app thats given me loads of greif over the last couple of years , so all good keep up the great work.

Très conviviale

Very good mail app, with intuitive and well designed functions. Some problems to import my previous « mail » messages, but with the help of the support guys (Thanks Mark !) the solution was very quickly found !

The app’s crashing everyday and they don’t do a thing about it.

Good app, good features, but no stability at all. Arimail crashes twice at least a day, even when it’s the only one opened, on the most recent mb retina. I tried to contact the technical services, the only thing they do is to ask to re-install the app, of course it doesn’t change a thing. Aaaaaaaand….that’s all. Thank you airmail for this magnificient software and technical services. => Trash.

Amazing Gmail UI integration

I was looking for a native aplication that fully integrates with gmail features like “Report Spam” and “Archive” that doesn’t look like some workaround generic mail implementation and AirMail2 got me covered. Please keep up the good work!

Slowing down

Airmail 2 is slowing down my mac. I will need to back to the Mail.app

CPU?

What happened with CPU consumption? Always more than 10%... And it is slower than 1.4.

Problems

The app is good but is worsening my MACs performance. I Have one MACBOOKPRO 2014 8 MB. Due to this I don’t recommend to buy this app. When they fix this problem it will be a good app.

Previus version was better...

This new version is slower and they remove the filters shortcuts, I don’t understand why. I don’t recommend it. Ive buy it, but still using the previous version. Fix it please!! Almost asking my money back! :)

My rMBP is crying

I’m an user of Airmail since the first version, and i’m very disappointed with this version. First you need to buy the new version, and its 10x more expensive, and now my Macbook Pro Retina late 2013 got slow. Airmail 2 is beautiful, and i love the way this app deal with my mail accounts, but this crap performance is totally unacceptable.

Completly inaccessible

Aldo Apple has a entire chapter about Accessible Applications this app don`t take t in consideration and is unusabl by an blind user like me. I really appreciate if in the next release this accessible problems like buttons without lables and tables that don`t speaks its content be repaired and I can stat using it as I received good recomendations about the program and it sounds be veruy usefull. Thanks in advance

Just a problem

I always read my messages from the oldest to the newest. But I like to organize them from the newest to the oldest, in a way that the newer ones appear at the top. The problem is that when I delete a message that I already saw, it opens the one that is under the deleted one, so I get a message that I already saw instead of the new one (which is above the deleted message). It would be great if after delete a message, it scrolls to the message directly above the deleted one instead of the one below. It is a silly thing, but it annoys me a lot.

Bye bye Apple Mail.app

No more Apple Mail. A real replacement, now waiting for IOS Version.

Search does not work!

I felt very frustated because the search engine does not work at all! So basic stuff….it’s a shame!

I like it, but...

It’s fast, it’s clean and a great email client to connect to Exchange, but… It still crashing. Since 3 weeks ago every 2 days it crashes and I have to rebuild database. Still no update to solve the problem.

Not so good

Being a long time Windows / Outlook user, and reading all the good reviews of Airmail, I have to assume that I’m rather disapointed with the application. It lacks a lot of funcionalities that Outlook has, such as rules, for example. It’s impossible to deal with a large number of emails without rules or some automation. I don’t even qualify it as being “ok” because the features it has on top of the default Email app don’t justify, to me, the price.
