Airmail - Lightning Fast Email App Reviews

email as it should be

After spending (I should say wasting) some time trying to make Outlook 2016 work flawlessly in a Mac environment, I gave this simple little program a try. So far, it works as it should. Simple, effective, and I can focus on the content of the inbox rather than on how to make the email program to work. Not that you would need it often, but customer support via chat was good (thanks Brenna).

Good app but can do some things better

I would like some integration with third party applications, like Asana or similar. The snooze function doesn’t work very well for me. I have appreciate the support of their customer care by Brenna. I hope for an update soon

Very cool

Great app and great support. I installed it on both my mac and my iPhone and I wanted to learn more about how to customize it. I got very useful support by Sheryl through the online chat who explained me how to proceed. I have been using Mailbox for two years and I wass desperate after the shutdown. Airmail seems an excellent alternative to it.

Great App

I use Airmail since 3 years , it is the best email app on the App Store. The only time ive had a problem i wrote to the support center and they answer me in short time solving my problem. (Thanks to Sherlyn for the support)

Very good app

Simple but powerful app, intuitive and easy. Had a problem with changing icon for various accounts, Contacted Brenna from Airmail on their website chat and was very quick and knowledgeable and solved problem in no time!

Very good app, but…

This is by far one of the best email client apps of the latest times, BUT... My issue is this: you cannot export to MBOX or PST the local email folders; thus, at the moment, if you switch to Airmail, you cannot switch back to your previous email client with all your emails: they will be “trapped” in Airmail. This is a big issue for me, since I have 10-15 GB of old emails and I don’t want to be stuck in an unexportable email client: what if I change to a PC or to Linux? What if I would want to switch back to Mail.app or to Outlook? For this reason I will wait for this feature to be implemented before doing the switch from Mac Mail app.

the best service for the best app!

i am not an expert of computer, i just switch them on and i work. i am not interested if the app is made by a famous house or a new start up. It must be a tool to make something well, without thinking how to use and how to the get the best performance. with Airmail 1 and now 2 i am an happy person. i had a couple of doubt long the way, i asked to their service, and miss Brenna answer few minutes my question with the precise link i need. I don’t know this people and i do not know Miss Brenna to be clear, but i understood that they are a very good and serious company. i felt to be supported. cannot ask more. thanks again Giorgio Vassallo

Smart Mailbox Folder?

I was wonder if AirMail has the Smart Mailbox Folder option just like Apple Mail, in order to store specific mails which meet certain criteria. Unfortunately it doesn’t but I have been told that this feature will be released with the new version. Sherlyn, of AirMail support, answered me immediately.

great support

I had some issues importing my accounts from the Airmail beta version to the app and I have been assisted by Sherlyn. Apart from Airmail app which is super, Great service!

Better than Apple Mail

I began to use Airmail after Apple Mail became a ngihtmare after the installation of El Capitan. At first it’s not that user friendly, maybe because of all the options it offers. After a while I abndoned it. After the release of Airmail for iOS I reinstalled it: all acounts setup very fast because I got it fron iCloud. Up and running in a couple of seconds. I don’t give the 5 stars becuase sometimes is slow and after deleting many messages one afyer the other, the message clicked on doesn’t correspond to the one shown. Furthermore there is no manual and all is done by mean of the FAQ interface on the web site. Unfortunately some questions lead to a "page not found” message. On the other hand the chat response is very quick and useful. In 10 minutes Sherlyn has been able to solve a problem

friendly chat support, scheduling improve

An app that seems to do his duty, aesthetically pleasing, functional, simple. Absent the function for scheduled sending mails but, thanks to a very very kind and friendly Brenna, of the chat support, I knew that this feature is in the Beta and will be an app update in the near future. Thanks a lot Airmail staff and thanks to Brenna!

Exchange integration doesn’t actually work

Fair warning to anyone who needs exchange. Airmail 2.6 has not yet succeded in downloading all of my mail, nor has it managed to sync to the server half of my actions. I’ve tested it side by side with another client, and it basically doesn’t work. Also, the gmail shortcuts are missing the important goto combination shortcuts, so you still need to learn theirs for moving between folders/labels and the inbox, for example.

For the better particularly with great iPhone and IPad support

I’ve switched back to this platform from CloudMagic, because Airmail is more intuitive, offers more features, is easy to add accounts, and there’s no annoying message regarding a “profile” description. This app is heading in the right direction!

Great app...

I have it on my mac and two ios devices and it’s a real pleasure to use on all three. It’s fast, customizable, integrates with 3rd party apps (Todoist in my case), and syncs all the settings across devices. I ran into one oddball bug on my mac and their customer support was terrific and a special shout-out goes to Brenna for her help. Problem solved very quickly.

Sluggish to send mail; but all is fixed

I have used Airmail 2 (and its predesessor) for over a year. It has many great features; however, it is very sluggish to send nearly every email. While it is stuck “sending” the email, one can’t begin to compose another email without causing the app to freeze up…sometimes requiring a force-quit. ***Update 3 Mai 2016 I chatted with “Brenna” from support at Airmail, and she helped me solve the problem (had to reinstall the preferences). Very happy.

Elegant! What You Expect from a Sofware Program Running on Your Mac.

Stunning visual design. Intuitive user experience. Easy integration with an impressive collection of productivity tools. AirMail is everything you wish Apple’s Mail program could be. Is AirMail perfect yet? No. But, if you do have a problem or would like to see a future feature, you’ll get fast and friendly help the AirMail staff. I encountered an issue and went to their support website. It took only minutes for a personal reply from Steven, a member of their support staff. My hope is that AirMail will continue to innovate and improve this already impressive program. The developers understand and apply the philosophy of simple elegance – which is what I expect from any program I run on my Mac. I could join many others and express frustration about the lack of an iPad version, but these reviews are supposed to be about the Mac software. I’m sure the developers are painfully aware that they’ve created a high benchmark. I’m willing to wait a while longer for it.

I wish I’d gotten this so much sooner!

I’ve used, and been underwhelmed by, the standard apple email app for years. I had a glimer of hope when mailbox came out, but then they folded. I sort of like gmails inbox, but that only works with their accounts. Finally I read some reviews, downloaded this program and within an hour I was hooked. It is easy to use, powerful, fast, and makes it possible to focus on the important emails while not forgetting the ones you have to deal with eventually. You can quickly pass stuff on to reminders or the calendar. Best of all, if you’re a Markdown sort of writer you’re going to love the md feature. This is a must have app!

Better than Apple Mail

This program is much better than Apple Mail, mainly because of the organization features. Visually, its also superior and allows for customization of the interface so you can view your messages how you want. It’s a little bit buggy now and then, but the support is great (recently Sarah helped me sort out an issue). The Mac version works seamleassly with the iOS version which is amazing! Recommend this app.

Very good app - still some areas for improvement

Our corp environment is google, so wanted a desktop app that would work on Mac to access gmail and calendar. Compared with the web-based gmail app this is much cleaner and nice looking. A lot of fucionalities that I have not yet gotten to use, but that seem quite useful. All together is a nice platform for email, allowing me to create folders and easily move emails around. Takes a bit to get familiar with it but once you are on it is fine. My first issue was with Apple Mail being launched for embedded links. That was solved within a day by contacting their Support team (thanks Sarah!). It is apparently a documented situation for Macs, where the services database needs to be reset. Once I did that the app would allow me to reply to links embedded on an email. Second issue so far is, when I accept an invite on an email, it opens google calendar for me to confirm, which is not ideal. In an ideal scenario I would accept the invite right on the app. Not sure of what the dependencies are or feasibility.

Love it

I tried Airmail 1 but didn’t get a long with it but as it turns out, it was just a teaser trailer for Airmail 2! Love this app, totally works for me on nearly all levels and where it doesn’t, the Airmail team are actively and regularly producing updates which address’s needs and wants. I’ve also got the iOS Airmail and love the fact the preferences sync between Mac and iPhone via the cloud… and not to mention the in app live support (iOS).. thanks “Paul”.. great active support!
