V3 is a great update

The new features and configurability of AirMail 3.0 bring it much closer to being the perfect desktop email app. The abiltiy to tweak keyboard short cuts is great. Combine this with a nice iPhone app that they offer and iPad specific app and it’s a killer suite. Really hoping they keep improving it! Thank you for making great changes to a great app. Sherlyn from chat support was able to answer a question for me very quickly. Great support!

quick response when I had an issue with AirMail

Within a few minutes of sending a ticket for troubleshooting with AirMail, I received a response from Brenna and the issue was resolved. I do not remember receiving such assistance from any app I have had trouble with in the past. And besides, I am very pleased with AirMail. I have three accounts in AirMail and two of which are for my work. I highly recommend this email application.

excellent

The one thing that’s always bugged me about macs is the standard mail client’s lack of useful features, but Airmail does the job nicely and does it with style. Really quick to get up and running, good gmail support, and the calendar/reminder support is great. Love the simplicity of the managment tools to help keep things organized, like the snooze feature. Wish I’d discovered this ages ago.

New Default Mail App

***Updated Tuesday, May 24, 2016 These guys listened to feedback and made what was already a super powerful and customizable app even better. If you use a desktop app, this and their companion iOS app are simply the best options out there. *** Original Review Ive been waiting for a duo of mail apps that work great on both iOS and on my desktop that supports more than just Gmail. Finally Airmail is here, with snoozing and the likes on both, and man I"m happy. The desktop app is generally a little slower to receive more email than my iPhone version, but it syncs and works great. Not only that, the developers are super responsive and continually working to improve the app. I thought Id be forced to wait until Sparkle released a desktop app until Id get solid parity between desktop and iOS, especially after Mailboxs shutdown and Mail Pilots brilliantly planned, but buggy efforts. So very happy. Thank you. And I"m sure customizing swipes is in the future... which will make it perfect. But until then, know that COMMAND D brings up snooze!

Does everything I needed it to do

After trying a few email app, Airmail did evertying I needed and more. I need to organize 4 email address (Gmail, Exchange, iCloud), and I need to access from multiple devices. Having everying in one place has made my work more efficient and I’ve hit inbox zero several times! Customer service (Mark) has also been very helpful when needed.

great customer service

Wow - had a question about airmail and found the on-line chat support …. Brenna answered my question - problem solved at 8 am Sunday morning. Impressive!

Great customer service & functionality

I was searching for the effective and productive email client, other than the native iOS mail agent, and I find that Airmail is the one which serves my needs. I was convinced to purchase it (which is actually pretty cheap, 3 cups of fancy coffee) by the company’s great customer service (i didn’t know how to set up my iCloud account with two-step verification). Sherlyn (the customer rep) was great and patient by explaining to me how to go through the process and as a result I was able to connect my account to Airmail. I would highly recoomend this product to everyone who wants to get their job done on time. Dmitri

Better than Apple Mail

I like Airmail so much better than Apple Mail. Very fast, nice interface, and good support. Recently had help from Sarah who was terrific. thanks!

New version works great with O365/Exchange

The new version has really stepped up its game for Exhange integration! I love how seamlessly it integrated with our O365 deployment! And Sarah on your support side was excellent in helping me get through the upgrade as the App Store was having an issue! Keep up the great work!

Improvement

I have been using this for over 6 months. It had many small problems but it has improved a lot. The support as well used to be bad as well but now it is very good and you get answers very quickly. Thanks to Mark for your assistance. One thing missing though is the attachment storage that Outlook for IOS has. It would be great to add something like that to your wonderful app. It saves all your received attachments in one location and when I write a new email, I can just attach it nice and simple. Before I would have to save it on the Mac app and then find it through finder. On the IOS version there were some attachments I couldn’t save and thus I could only forward the email. Other than that, it works better than any other app that I have tried and I have really tried them all.

emails are not sent

since updating to version 3 most emails are not sent. they’re not saved in drafts, outbox, archive or sent items, they just vanish. I contacted the deloper and I was told this is a “technical glitch” and I should restore the previous version from Time Machine backups.

Great Response on Technical Issues

I was looking forward to the improvements in Version 3, but couldnt seem to get the upgrade to work. Paul responded very quickly and immediatley had a solution for me, that worked perfectly. Thanks for the quick and thorough support, and keep developing. This is my favourite app. Looking forward to an iOS update soon I hope! RC

Airmail 3

I have just added this app to my second computer it is so easy to use and works great .Had to have a help from Customer Support and Mark was great and his help and understanding of my issue he was also very patient .Great to have such a helpful and knowlegedable Tech Support offered when you need it . Thanks Mark I appreciate it Cheers mj

Gmail Desktop client for OS X? This is it! The refinements in 3.0 are awesome.

Thanks guys for cleaning this thing up! Works great :)

The new version is everything I asked for and more!

I loved Airmail 2, but there were a few visual design choices that really bothered me (mostly the action icons and their pixelated appearance). Call me a perfectionist, but an app’s aesthetic is just as important as it’s feature set. This new version though… wow, seriously beautiful. It’s the same design but with SO much polish. I can finally ditch Apple Mail with absolutely no hesitation. Great job!

Great but...

EDIT: Airmail 3 - I love this app. Plain and simple. But since the recent update to Airmail 3, the speed at which messages get sent has significantly dropped, and for me this is a big no-no and has dropped this from a 5 star app to a 3 at most. AIrmail 2 sent them in a breeze and this barely chugs them out. Please fix. Airmail 2 - Don’t know what all the negetivity is in the recent reviews (almost didn’t buy the app because of it), but now that I have bought it, played around with it and used it I can say its by far my favourite, no issues, and 100x better than apple mail in my opinion. Love the layout, look and feel!

An excellent app, but v3 is a bit of a downgrade

I have used Airmail for a year or two now and I really like it. My chief reason for liking it is that so many aspects of it can be customized, particularly in terms of keyboard shorcuts. Unfortunately, some of this functionality has been diminished in the latest update. It used to be possible to archive messages in specific folders incredibly quickly, without your fingers leaving the keyboard. To move a message to the folder “work”, you would type v-w-return. Now, there is a little animation that plays after you press ‘v’, so it’s v-<wait for animation>-w-return. If you’re used to typing the keystrokes in a quick sequence and you now press v then continue typing during the animation, those keystrokes are interpreted as other commands, leading to all sort of unintentional actions. I am having to learn to insert an annoying little pause into just this one command, to accommodate this unecessary animation. It feels contrary to the spirit of the app, which is otherwise all about speed and fluency. I hope this is changed in future update. Still, overall it’s a great app.

Still missing the most basic of features

OK, I will admit that Airmail is really well thought-out client for a majority of what an email user would need. BUT. I cannot overlook the fact that the team has continued to ignore something as simple as being able to sort your messages effectively. For instance, when in your inbox, you can sort “by sender,” which makes total sense. But when you switch to your sent items (where you are the only sender, obvs) the sort options don’t change to “by recipient” , it still only shows “by sender” — in other words, there is still no way to sort the sent items by what is arguably the most important criteria: who you sent the message to! Until the team gets the basics of an email client figured out, I don’t think they deserve more than 3 stars no matter how many other cool features they tack on. Sorry folks — been with you since near the start but can’t abide this ongoing issue.

Great email app

Been using it for over a year now and it has been a great email app for the OSX. Had some issues with updating from v2 to v3, but Mark with their support team walked me through the problem and got me going again. Love the chat support feature and Mark was very helpful!

Options and Support

I’ve been using Airmail on every platform it’s available for. It’s the only app available on both ios and osx that allows me to configure my accounts the way I would like. Also great supoport, was having an issue last week, sent an email, and Paul got back to me and had it solved within the hour.
