Echt Suuuuuuper App!
Echt Suuuuuuper App!
Long time user and I love the app. But lately the app is getting very slow nd hangs or crashes a lot. I use the in ap support that takes me to the App Store, and the support button there takes me to the website which then takes me to the App Store again… no real sense of someone ready to support…
Fantastic update to an already fantastic app. I’ve noticed a ton of bugs that are gone and it runs faster and smoother. Good job on the update. I know some folks are not thrilled about paying for an update however the app developers have mouths to feed at home too. They should be paid for their work. You don’t have to get the update if you don’t want to pay.
2024-12-27 — I’m still shocked that we are asked to leave a review in order to get support. Problem: I use a label “Waiting” in multiple accounts. The label shows under each account, as it should. I made a Smart Folder with the criteria Label: Waiting but it doesn’t find any messages. Is it possible to do a smart folder on a label? ========================= I have done two reviews of Airmail in the past (see below), and have given it five stars. But to use the review section in the App Store to leave a message for Support is just lame. It feels very much like a end-of-life move. And my Support request was simply to find out where there is a change log. The latest update (which you can see above) has just three words: "Outlook, Live, Bugfix." Okay, what about those three things? Love the app, pretty much all around. But as I said, this is lame. ========================== Have gone back into the marketplace and tried all the contenders, and for my use cases Air Mail is still the best tool. They continue to actively develop the app, they have solid support (yea Sarah!), and best of all, the app makes my email management faster and smoother than any other app. :: I have a large number of email accounts, and Airmail has become my go-to app for managing all the email I get. The unified inbox, the compact account listing, the ability to have a preview plus a fairly tight message list, all combined to make it a better tool for me than Outlook Mac or Postbox. In addition, I just had a problem integrating Airmail for IOS with it, and put in a ticket. In less than an hour, I had my answer from Brenna from support. THAT was impressive response time. :: 2017-04-07 — Continue to be impressed with both the app itself and the responsiveness of the staff to questions, bugs, and feature requests. It seems that I look around about once a year, and always come back to this app for mail. Lots of solid features, and some gee-whiz features too. Strongly recommended! :: 2017-09-10 — Another note to say how much I continue to be impressed with the app, especially with the support. On a Sunday night, no less, I got precise help in about five minutes. Truly one of the best companies I have dealt with :: Still can’t believe that THIS is the way to get support. Issue: Airmail used to change double hyphens (--) into an en dash (–). It no longer does that. Why?
It's also a bit slow and buggy (M1 Max). With 5.6.9 on Sonoma I can't even use the app currently as the main window is a big yellow box and the message viewer is grey. All that said, the control-F (show messages from same sender feature) is something I wish Mail.app would have.
This email client is pretty good. Nevertheless, there are some significant challenges in using it. First, because of the way an email thread is treated, I cannot see each individual message separately. They are threaded together into one long screen. Secondly, if there are attachments and I don’t retrieve them before an email thread continues I cannot retrieve later. Very, very frustrating! In regards to email rules under settings, which I use extensively, it’s impossible to read each rule if my Mac is in dark mode. The text for each rule is black on black. Are you kidding me?! Secondly, just as frustrating is that if I reorder my rules Airmail may or may not remember that change. Are you kidding me?! There should be an option to alphabetize the rules. This would make it much simpler.
Stop asking me for a review every time I log in
I get errors when trying to send. I know it’s isolated to Airmail on desktop because I can use the Apple Mail app on desktop as well as the mobile version of Airmail on my phone to send. Any thoughts?
It is freezing repeatedly. I have to Force quit. Happens during editting of emails. Mac 14.7.1, Airmail 5.8.13 I upgraded it and now I have to keep quitting every few minutes because the Delete key stops deleting emails.
I have been using Airmail on my Mac ever since the time that Apple Mail developed problems with Gmail a few years ago, and it is now my only email client. I have found it to be completely reliable and works perectly with Gmail. It used to be that technical assistance was easy to get, but now it is almost non-existant, and can take multiple days.
I have used Airmail for probably 8 years on Mac. Recently I've had an issue where my email messages keep getting cut off at the end. Not sure why. It's maddening. When you try to contact support, there is zero response. So it's time for a different email app.
the endless popup for subscription is painful. I thought it would go away with latest update but nope…
Sorry, Apple, but both the Calendar and Mail app that come with the OS have proven to be buggy to the point I can’t use them since Sequoia showed up. I’ve been testing third party alternatives to both, and Airmail looks to be the winner for a reliable, compact, and fast mail client. The interface is enough like Mac Mail that I don’t feel like I need to learn something new, but the added features and reliability won me over. Special shout out to tech support advisor Steven at Airmail who’s been very prompt and to the point in answering my questions.
Sadly, like other GREEDY software developers they are moving to a subscription model. It’s a simple email app I don’t understand how they can justify a subscription model. Also, I don’t need Yet Another Subscription Service (YASS). To add insult to injury I am getting bombarded with pop-ups trying to force me to “Claim My Offer”. It’s so bad that it is making the current app almost unusable.
I am a paid Pro User and have been for a while. Now a pop up about paid annual subscription is making this impossible to use. Support can not seem to be contacted in any way. I would be happy to change my review if I can stop having the pop ups. Again I am already a pro user.. The settings even show me as a pro user.
I had given up on Airmail. I started using this years ago and it began having syncing issues. Nothing from support helped. I recently gave Airmail another try. They’ve made many improvements. I paid for full versions for my Mac and iPhone.
I found this email app adequate for my needs since early 2015-16. Despite longstanding glitches in the iOS user interface, and emails that mysteriously disappear in the Mac client before just as mysteriously (sometimes) reappearing, nothing else I tried was any better and most were much worse. My main grumble is that Airmail is not available for Linux. This is probably the biggest single reason why I cannot free myself from Apple’s death-grip. I understand Linux is not their main audience, but Airmail would have virtually zero competition on the world’s largest platform (including Windows OS). Linux has Thunderbird, which looks 1980s and behaves 1990s, and a few other. All the other Linux email clients are seriously broken in one way or another. …. I am not trying to take away from Airmail or distract their Mac focus, but a Linux port would be greatly appreciated by many. Thanks for listening!
I’ve been a long time user of Airmail, but I’m about to remove it from my Mac and iOS devices. Whenever I reset my Xfinity/Comcast email passwords, it works on my mac, but fails on iPad and iPhone with the exact same server settings. In the past, this problem would eventually clear of a week or so. The last time, I’ve been struggling for months. That’s it. I’m done.
Confirmed all the settings, everything is turned on. Does not spell check while I type. Now the newest version also does not offer corrections under the right click menu when a word is wrong. Still doesn't check while I type. Seems like very basic functionality for an email client, or any text editor
Popups keep occurring even though I have pro version. Support says “too bad”
4 buttons for “paste and keep style” thats almost impossible. Additional formatting for the text in the body of the email is pretty limited. Search is great! Also, my coworkers can never see replies to emails (same inbox).
Pop ups to pay money after you pay - keep hoping up… I do not want monthly or yearly subscription … Can you accept that once and save my decision.
I have about 15 email addresses that I have setup with this application. The app itself is great but I like to see a list of all the accounts, like in the iOS app where you see the actual email addresses in a list. The desktop app does provide that functionality, instead you get all the icons in the lower left which represent each email account. This is not really helpful. My workaround is to click the All icon and show the list in the second column. However sporadically I will see a flash of the list of accounts and then they disappear. They are there but not shown. If I click in the black space it will actually take me to that account but you have no idea of what you’re clicking on. Changing the theme and then restarting the app seems to bring back the list but only for a short time then I have to change the theme again. Also need to mention that support is basically non-existent. On their website the Live Support button just directs you to leave feedback here. I was trying to get help with this problem 3 weeks ago with the Live Support but it’s only response was “Please use the Apple Review System to leave feedback”
I don’t remember if I have seen this backward improvement before…. Airmail has gone from best email client to the worst. The pop up asking for money is happening 10+ times a day. And it crashes very often. sometimes I just can’t edit the message. Need to restart the app.
I’m a big fan of the app, not so much a fan of the support. In the past, when they’re responsive, it’s always been helpful. However, I’ve been trying for over a month to get some help with a new (but seemingly simple) issue that occurred after a recent update. All I’ve been getting from support is an invitation to leave feedback here, so… here ya go.
Lots of messages just sit there and say “Loading …” which isn’t very useful.
Sometimes they do, many times they don’t, especially when updating a rule or adding an additional parameter.
I bought this app a few years ago and loved it. However… they changed to a subscription model and called it a “Pro” version, which they offered for free to people who purchased prior to the change. But the app now puts up a giant “Upgrade Now” banner every few minutes which disables the software until you close the window. This was a giant downgrade for their paying customers. Customer support said the only way around it is to buy the app again. Super lame.
Over the last 2 years, the app has become increasingly buggy and has only changed for the sake of change. There's been no improvements in the UX. You won't hate using Airmail, but you also won't miss it if you switch to something else.
Their "Live support" chat is just a link to this Apple App Store Review System. So here is my review: please provide actual customer support and not just a link to the app store.
They can't even answer a based presale question. Moving on to the next potential solution to my problem.
I purchased Airmail in 2019 as it was the best email client on the MAC. I have been very happy with it. However, it was updated and now a pop-up will not stop appearing every few minutes, asking me to purchase Airmail Pro. I have attempted to contact customer support many times, with zero response over the last month.
Does anyone know how to turn off the new pop-up ad that asks me to upgrade to the premium service? This is a new and unwelcome addition.
Every time I try to use this app, it pops up adds for Airmail pro. I have deleted it off my computer and am looking for a new email client that isn’t so spammy.
And they want you to pay a subscription for non-subscription features lol
Support is VERY hard to reach, sometimes days or weeks to get a response
Linked my account and was hit with a paywall. Immediatly unlinked my account and deleted all personal data
I’ve been using airmail on multiple devices (iOS, Mac, Windows, etc) for a lot of years now. I’ve tried multiple clients on each platform to still always come back to Airmail. Great product at a good price.
"There is a problem with the Apple Store."
It works great sometimes, other times it crashes and requires restarts. Other bugs as well.
For the last 2-3 weeks I am getting an Airmail Pro upgrade ‘Claim Offer’ pop up every few minutes - I have no idea how to stop it and it is very disruptive to my concentration and workflow. Please, please stop it or let me know how to turn it off asap.
I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY APP SPECIFIC PASSWORD BUT IT ONLY WORKS ON MY MACBOOK PRO. ON THE IPHONE, I GET THE ERROR MSG, “PLEASE CHECK YOUR CREDENTIALS.” WHAT’S WRONG PLEASE ?????
I’ve been using the App for some time and like it a lot. Search could be better and I have noticed problems with Smart Folders on MacOS that do not occur on iOS. Specifically if you get more than 4 or 5 linked OR statements in a single query, the Smart Folder will only display the last two items. The same query works fine on iOS.
I ALREADY HAVE PRO - STOP THE POPUP. I have been using Airmail for years. The UI is the best email client UI I have worked with since I started using email. I upgraded to Pro a couple of years ago but they are now pushing Pro with a popup that comes up constantly despite the fact I already have Pro. No obvious way to kill it, and when I tried to use the chat support function, all it gave me was “Please leave a review”. I need a functioning email client, and Airmail no longer fits that basic requirement. I’ll give up the UI for a working email client -the popup has made this unusable..
The last update wont allow you to tab in the body of an email. Please fix!!!
Tried to get support but online chat doesn't seem to work.
It’s not free
Since I can Only use one of my emails It is not as productive
cannot get aol delivered to my airmail account and live support doesnt respond
Finally, Mac users have an email application that works! I think Apple gave up on their Mail program because it was so bad it was beyond repair or recoding it. Airmail has a clean and sleek looking user interface, and it’s easy to to connect new email accounts. Keep up the great work Airmail Crew!
